Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is delighted to welcome Don Milner, an Australian artist and painter based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, for an exhibition showcasing his distinctive approach to painting and drawing.

A graduate of the Queensland College of Art, Don has spent more than four decades working across the creative arts. Following a 26-year career as a graphic designer, illustrator and commercial artist, he has devoted his practice since 2000 to fine art and painting.

Working across acrylic, oil, pastel, charcoal and drawing, Don explores a diverse range of subjects including seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, portraiture and still life. His work moves between impressionist and representational styles, drawing inspiration from the environment around him and the colourful characters who inhabit it.

Describing himself as a visual communicator and storyteller, Don celebrates freedom of expression through his art, creating works that invite viewers to look closely and discover the stories and impressions within each subject.

Don is also passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others, having taught painting and drawing classes and workshops both locally and further afield.

His connection with the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery also includes his role as judge of the David Bryce Award 2026.
