Discover the magic of botanical monoprinting with Lyn Kenny in this hands-on workshop using a Gelli Plate. You’ll explore a range of creative printmaking techniques to produce layered, textured artworks inspired by nature.
You’ll learn how to:
- Care for your Gelli Plate
- Work with a limited colour palette
- Create backgrounds, texture, and interest using stamps, stencils, and combs
- Print with leaves, collage, and tissue paper
- Experiment with negative prints and ghost prints
- Try Chine-collé and tissue layering
- Mount your favourite print onto a 6” x 8” wood panel
All materials supplied, including:
- 8” x 10” Gelli Plate
- Paints and brayer
- Assorted papers
- One wood panel for mounting
What to bring:
- A selection of interesting leaves (e.g. geranium, coleus, maple, grapevine, passionfruit vine, kangaroo grass – flat leaves with strong veins work best)
- Papers for collage (old book pages, music sheets, handwritten notes, poetry)
