THE WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD IN THE 1913 COUNCIL CHAMBERS IN EDWARD ST, BEHIND THE KINGAROY REGIONAL ART GALLERY

Be inspired by the Kingaroy Art Gallery Print Exhibition! Learn how to design, carve, and print your own lino print design.
Michelle will take you through the tools and materials needed to create a lino print. You will be guided through the basics of carving using basic lino tools and Silk Cut lino to create a test sampler and your own design. You will learn how to transfer your design onto the lino block and then print using an etching press with oil-based ink on a variety of printmaking papers. If you have a fear of blank pages, there will be a selection of simple design elements and examples that you can use for inspiration to make your own designs. Your print will be 15cm x 15cm. Google ’simple lino print designs’ for inspiration if you like to come prepared! Please wear closed-in shoes, old clothes and/or an apron that you don’t mind being permanently stained. Gloves will be available, but you may get oil-based ink under your fingernails.

There will be a half an hour break for lunch – BYO light lunch and water bottle.
