“Scenes from Life”

Step into a world of imagination and creativity in August 2023!  You will find the “Scenes from Life” exhibition in Gallery 2!

In “Scenes from Life,” Maureen showcases her love for painting portraits, a genre she holds close to her heart. The exhibition features a collection of her favourite portraits. Maureen’s mastery of the oil medium is evident in each painting, infusing richness and depth that breathes life into her subjects.

Maureen Meggitt-Lorne briefly describes her exhibition and accomplishments:

“Art has always been important in my life. I gained a Diploma in Fine Arts at the Brisbane Institute of Art, have won many prizes for art and exhibited in international exhibitions.

My first love is painting portraits and I have included a number of my favourites in this current show. My preferred medium is oil. It gives richness and depth to the painting.

After teaching in Brisbane for 13 years, I am now enjoying life in the country.”
